Hıdır Belice, President of Dersim Chambers of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, made a statement about bread prices in the city. 400 grams of pita bread, popularly known as "open bread", is 14 TL. The loaf of bread was 7 TL. Comparing the high prices of bread with the population of other provinces, Belice argued that the price increase was due to population growth. Belice stated that the rents in Dersim compete with metropolitan cities such as Ankara and Istanbul, and claimed that the people of Dersim in the region have access to bread in a more "advantageous" way.
